It also claims to work better than Proactiv.

How Does AcneFree Work?

The Acne Free system comes with three products. A cleanser is used to scrub out dirt and impurities, while the toner is used to hydrate and help shrink pores, and the repairing lotion helps heal pimples over night. AcneFree is primarily used for adult acne but teenagers may also use the system.

• AcneFree Cleanser starts off by scrubbing out skin cells that have clogged the pores. It refines those pores and keeps bacteria at bay. It also uses a prescription strength dosage of benzoyl peroxide.
• The AcneFree toner works by balancing the skin cells and helping to remove any left over skin cells and grime.
• The repairing lotion is best for overnight use. It fights bacteria and keeps the pores clear. Generally repairing lotions work best when left on for 5 hours. It is important to rinse it off in the morning to minimize irritation.

The main ingredient in the AcneFree line is benzoyl peroxide. This is an extremely irritating product for some people, and may cause even worse breakouts. Some people may want to sit through the irritation and wait for the results, it isn’t worth it especially if itching or redness occurs.

AcneFree also uses a number of preservatives and chemicals that may be extremely harmful to the skin for long term use. This product also states that if you don’t see results right away, it could be because the product is working. Some people report extremely breakouts and the company states “It gets worse before it gets better.”

• Very drying to the skin, which is never good for adults!
• Cheap ingredients provide cheap results. Don’t expect too much from this product line.

Even though this product is well known, there are many other acne products on the market that will not irritate the skin so much. AcneFree is a nightmare for most individuals that have acne prone skin, especially adults. The older you get the more sensitive your skin becomes. Therefore, using such harsh treatments may worsen adult acne and increase wrinkles.
