Unblemish Review

From the makers of Rodan and Fields comes a new line of acne treatment called Unblemish. The Unblemish regimen comes as a three part acne treatment package. It claims to “clear breakouts and calm your complexion to keep pimples, blackheads and red spots” from appearing on your face. The regimen is supposed to clear, heal, and balance your skin.

How Does Unblemish Work?

1. Acne Treatment Sulfur Wash –its main ingredient is sulfur. (Please be noted that since this product contains sulfur, the cleanser does smell bad. Customers who are not comfortable with the smell of sulfur may have a problem in using it.)

2. Clarifying Toner – consists of witch hazel, glycolic acid, and a number of other synthetic ingredients. (This toner is just like any other regular toner in the market.)

3. Acne Benzoyl Peroxide Treatment – Uses 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide, which is generally considered safe at low concentrations. (The use of benzoyl peroxide to their facial care treatments may be harmful and aggravating if not applied in proper amount. Benzoyl peroxide has been known to irritate many different skin types, and it is not the most effective ingredient to be used within a professional acne treatment.)

Summary

Since Unblemish t is from a reputable company like Rodan and Fields, it seems like the product has a good science behind it. Though some of the ingredients have been proven effective in some cases, they often come with harsh side-effects and could be bought at a much cheaper price in a more generic product. Also, the ingredients contained in the product are somewhat outdated. Other medications would be a lot better than the benzoyl peroxide in the third treatment. As for the sulfur, customer’s preference regarding the odor of the wash should be considered by the company. Having to spend $100 for Unblemish, a product whose results with your particular acne are uncertain, seems a bit much. In light of all this we can think of several products that are powerful acne fighters and well under $100.
